Now What?

Thanks to the infinite wisdom that is the Big Ten, Ohio State is not playing football these next two weekends. There will still be plenty of great games to watch, and if you feel like you need to have some teams to pull for here is a little guide.

Teams to root for if you would like to see Ohio State play in a second straight national title game:

Oklahoma. Now that they have lost a second game they are out of the national title picture, but they will have a major say in who will eventually end up in the game. Currently both Kansas and Missouri are ahead of Ohio State in the BCS standings. These teams play on Saturday with the winner taking on Oklahoma (or Texas if Oklahoma slips up against Ok State). If Oklahoma knocks off the winner of the Kansas/Missouri game that would leave only two teams that are currently ranked in front of Ohio State.

Arkansas. The Razorbacks take on LSU this Friday. If the Razorbacks fail to pull the upset then root for the SEC East Champion.

Kentucky. Why do you need to root for Kentucky? Well they don’t play anyone who is in front of OSU but they do play Tennessee. Currently Tennessee is in the driver’s seat to win the SEC East and take on LSU in the SEC championship game. There are many people who believe LSU would more than likely be able to run over Tennessee, but would have tougher time getting past Georgia. Georgia currently sits second in the SEC East and can only pass Tennessee with a Volunteer loss to Kentucky.

UConn/Pittsburgh. Both of these teams get a chance to knock off WVU in Morgantown.

USC. USC gets included here because the only 1-loss team behind OSU that would have a realistic chance to catch them is Arizona State. The Sun Devils and Trojans square of on Thanksgiving Day in Tempe.
